    1. James Nicholls

the engines are crap, they are made by Peugeot, they are not made to handle a supercharger. BMW did not make a transverse engine at the time, they now use a version of the 3 cylinder engine from a i8.

    2. charlet foster

Minis are cute but they hemorrhage 💵💰💳👎🏿

    3. beezer

The number plate would gave been under the e brake but somebody obviously took it out

    4. beezer

That car is only 1 of 1000 made that year, please do something nice with it!

    5. theedge508

Great Memories you bring with this one y bought in 2005 this edition in texas mine was Number 40 /1000 love that little car have to sell it 3 years later but o boy ill enjoy that little mini i still have the magnet 37 and a replace stickers for the hood and the side originals

    6. John Toon

All that stuff I can fix for about 800 bucks. They see Mini. They see dollar signs. Ripping him Off on parts alone.

    7. Keith Goodway

As far as i know the body shell is made in swindon wiltshire England so a large part is British

    8. F F F F U You tube

The children will be grateful, I would have saved this car just for that. :)

    9. Federico Vázquez

Awesome! Missed these videos on rescuing old, but cool shit boxes! Thank you for the video

    10. Tyler N

The 500 Abarth was way cooler and funny enough more reliable.

    11. dewdew34

Never cared for these "cute" cars. Bah humbug and get off my lawn.

    12. Sebastian Andersen

Really starting to like Ninja more and more. He seems like a genuine, nice and cool dude!

    13. computer build144

Mini coopers are total garbage cut your losses and junk it

    14. earlbond007

Vtec swap it or k swap it that way it will be reliable

    15. Ads_lad

I don't get it. Minis in the UK are fairly reliable. Couple of friends have minis but none of them ever complained.

    16. t5jerry

did you call your friend bob "urination bob" ? does he suffer from "leaks" ?

    17. Matthew Nowlin

      I gotta lie - whisttlindiesel

    18. Blatantly John

      Urination Bob

    19. Mark Plenty

      It’s a Peugeot engine! 🤦‍♂️

    20. Ron Porter

I really want to see this when it’s finished!

    21. Chloe Newman

Typical mini. My first car was a mini r50, 1.6 petrol. Fun to drive but not exactly reliable XD

    22. wgn wheels

My first three cars were minis. Real one's from the 60s and 70s and I think they were more reliable witch is saying something. Do the world a favor and have it crushed

    23. Peter's Autovlog

I think the Ninja is not far away from getting a yacht as well, just like the Wizard did! cha-ching!

    24. Mark's Cars

Hmmm, not sure what to make of this vid. 104k miles and a knackered clutch is disingenuous. Previous owners are responsible for that, not the car. As indeed they may be responsible for oil-related maladies if they’ve not maintained it properly. And on that mileage it IS going to need work such as the power steering leak if previous owners haven’t stayed on top of maintenance. Buy the cars and save them, and show us, but don’t make out ALL miley cars are shit. Cars wear out, fact.

    25. JACK BOG

The saggy headlining is unforgiveable. In the late 1970s British Leyland had cloth glued to very thin foam rubber which was then glued to card at first, then to plastic in the 90s. The foam degraded over time into powder and the cloth sagged off the backing or biscuit as it was known. From Minis to Jags all BL products did it. But BMW continuing the practice in the 21st century!

    26. Mathieu L

You complain about a 6150$ USD repair cost on a R53? lol Brace yourself, my R52S cost 28000$ CAD in repairs over 18months. It was last year.

    27. mmmadog Smith

He said its hard to work on. How would he know...

    28. Gabe Negron

I love all versions of the mini cooper, but I just can't afford the maintenance and reliability :(

    29. klatoo14

Since St Jude is in my home town, I just made a 5% of your bills total donation to St Jude under “Ninja.”

    30. Neil K

Big fan of the “Dumbest automotive channel in all of IRvision” dance

    31. Boating with Cody

Some say you can hear Scotty Kilmer cackling in the distance if you listen very, very carefully.

    32. Branden Jones

I was definitely guessing 11,000 lol

    33. Charles Pletzke

You are correct with your theory about upkeep costs, but it gets worse than that. This next sentence tells you everything you need to know about their reliability and service costs. The mini uses many bmw components, except for the french engine; The car is then wired and assembled in Britain. A friend of mine had the clutch replaced on his 2007 model and it cost 4 grand at a shop that doesn’t overcharge.

    34. Teds World

He makes a $1 every 1,000 views so I'm sure it will work out fine in the end if you make enough videos about it! ;D

    35. Albi Hadroviq

      Car Ninja are you Albanian?

    36. Andrew Drabble

No BMW didn't buy Mini Cooper as a company, they bough the Rover group which built the classic shape Mini. BMW eventually sold Rover but had the foresight to keep the Mini brand. All a Mini is now is a BMW 1 series. Oh and don't forget the 100,000 mile service

    37. Roost Squid

Power steering in a car this size is about as silly as having power steering on a shopping cart.

    38. James Power

Now there is a car I have always loved, always wanted one, loved seeing them on the covers or in say, Sport Compact Car mags

    39. James Smith

What a bargain 👍 great video thanks

    40. Nick C

Just slap a new car on the brakes and she’ll be fine ! 🚘

    41. Lipe Paiga

Tyler, I love your channel, but for Christ, set volume higher! Very very low volume and when the publicity shows up it almost blow my ears...

    42. Kurbin Demaj

      Is ninja Albanian???

    43. Rob

Ton of those on UK roads, but mostly rotten due road winter salting.

    44. Tarmac76

      Ninja's face at 8:57, complete disgust. 😂

    45. Wa1rior

How to make a Mini Copper S cool. K Swap it.

    46. Al Hodge

when the oil light comes on you turn off the engine immediately. not limp it back.

    47. Pistachio Van Life

      Can't wait! I love Minis

    48. The Hungry Ferret

There is a soft spot in my heart for those special edition Mini Coopers. Good news it will almost be a new car.

    49. linerror

typical vehicle -- needs a little work from the 50k to 100k mile mark and someone drove it until everything was broken or worn out... and traded it in instead of doing it over the last 3 years...

    50. Brandon Purple

Get the supercharger ported and polishedd

    51. Olsun

My own hoptie is in repair. Luckily my insurance covered it 2 times. 3 third might not be the charm

    52. Doctor QUE?

The car ninja is from albania ?? ..LOL

    53. King Muppet

The nosy kitty utrastructurally knot because clipper advantageously cheer a a chemical japan. secretive, outgoing society

    57. livelikeitslegal

... and we all have a low opinion of your driving ability.

    58. eggypickle

These were a disaster from the factory. It's like they decided to exhibit the very worst of European automotive engineering in the new MINI. It's got it all. This isn't a dig on European cars, they can be done well but the MINI is just a turd in all ways and it seems to be by design. Peugeot/BMW engine collaboration, plastic shite everywhere, emphasis on gimmicks over quality... just awful.

    59. Si Raff

Wow. That oil light is a time machine. The car dropped 9 miles getting to ninjas.

    60. AK Gyamfi Mods

Nice car Mini, repair it to sell high🤑

    61. Ted Beckett

The hood (bonnet) release is actually on the drivers side here where they are made!

    62. leedstown

Should have put it in a auction

    63. Arto Kiiskinen

"I went to the auction, not planning to buy a car" -- Hoovie - why did you go to the auction?

    64. Black_Scorpion

      is the car ninja albanian?.....

    65. Cocoy C

      Does the odometer run backwards?

    66. Graham Topping

Worth every penny... Cracking little car... Well worth saving ☺️ And gotta be cheaper than a supercar...

      1. Scourge Of bloodclan

Do you have a VW passat and an Audi S5 cabriolet?

    67. Rhys Parker

Pretty sure Wheeler Dealers did an MC40 a few seasons ago?

      1. Rhys Parker

        Which you just mentioned 🤣

    68. Alimin8r

That little old car buying addiction is biting the hand that feeds it when it makes you buy real hoopties that should've been parted out at the scrapyard, but think of the kids, awwww...

    69. Felisindo Rodríguez

Hahaha..Love that Rolex flag the Ninja has in there !

    70. mtn. srl Rascu

I buy one too... new steering pump, new gearbox, new coils, plugs filters liquids, tyres, arm suspension, landa, rear lamps etc etc..........

    71. David

      Wanna sell it?

    72. Jake

Ironically the engine in these are chrysler engines..

    73. axelerod

Here in the UK these are a motoring joke.....the list of problems is endless...crappy american engines in the early ones. to shite peugeot units later,,....timing chains (due in the main to ludicrous service intervals ) clutches ,brakes inlet manifold clogging.electical issues.........

    74. BlutoandCo

NO. BMW bought Rover who owned/built the Mini. Back in the 80's? John Cooper sold his trademark to Rover as he needed the money and thought with the upcoming emmisons the a series wouldnt carry on. It was a very shrewed buy by BMW.

    75. tray Stone

Hoovie, you are definitely a real enthusiast. Thanks for that and the Mini video. They are pretty rare. Even on IRvision. Commonly known to be a scary ownership experience. Unreliable and disappointing to the extreme but also loved just as passionately for their charm and fun to drive attributes. Please make a video of Ninja's repair of this bomb. You have to. You are probably one of the few guys crazy and quirky enough to make a good go of it.

    76. Mexifinn

Is it just me, but when Hoovie talks about Euronation Bob, it sounds like he’s saying Urination Bob?

    77. Timsalt3100

Everything about this car is saying wheeler dealers mini to me the car was sold in 2018 in socal and everything matches the car inch by inch if Could see plate at back it confirm or deny that theory. If it is that car it's been trashed since original owner

    78. Jason

I'd have to argue the 2nd gen mini is the best. I'm biased, I have an r56 jcw hardtop, but I've never had too many serious problems. High pressure fuel pump got recalled and the clutch fork is prone to failure if you use a stiffer aftermarket clutch, but I've never had any problems with things like timing chains or bent valves. I drive it hard and occasionally track it, but as long as I regularly maintenance it and change fluids it works great. Also worth noting that the 2nd gen minis used electric power steering (NOT drive by wire), so all those power steering leaks wouldn't be a problem if you had a 2nd gen lol. But great to see a mini rescue either way, seems like a very rare edition!

    79. Super-Tactical.com

Anyone else surprised it was only 6k for all of that?

    80. Toolman 5862

      Get a fiero

    81. Jimmy Rutz

I don't care about minis I love you Hoover

    82. Norman Willems

The carbon interior trim is almost worth more than the rest of the car nowadays 😂 But hey, very cool to save this R53! Gonna be a great little car when all is fixed. Fix her up and never sell her ever!😃

    83. Fletcher Musician

Get it sorted Bro.. I love the R53 Cooper S still have mine till this day.. you will enjoy it trust me...

    84. Ken Hopf

I heard "urination bob", "not euronation bob... " I then really wondered how he got that name.....

    85. OgtheLabel

Hoovie just dm me bro. This guys robbing u

    86. Stephen Cooper

The Ninja staring at him like “now you can’t say ‘no,’ I already said ‘St. Jude’s.’”

    87. Paul Johnson

I owned a 2011 Mini Cooper Clubman S and it was a blast to drive, one of my favorite vehicles I've ever owned. This Mini of yours wasn't maintained at all and that is key to longevity with these cars. They have to be maintained.

    88. Joshua Rosen

I have kissed 33EJB. It was at the Motor Show at Earl's Court many years ago and no-one appeared to be looking, so I gave it a quick peck.

    89. Isabella Electrum - Virtual YouTuber

I think you have bought more cars accidentally than the average person intentionally buys in there life time LOL

    90. Trev-Dogg TV

      Wow. A Whistlin Diesel shout

    91. go86go

when ninja saw hoovies' mini, he was grinning from ear to ear: here comes my boat payment for the next 6 months

    92. Steve Fuller

Six grand! he's having a laugh, clutch kit is about 120 dollars in UK, I must be under charging for my labour.

      1. Harith's

Of course.. You shouldn't include shipping cost, the dealer who bring it to US, Tax.. Maybe better if you can just go to bmw hq and tell them to make a simple engine..

    93. Jack Hemsworth

Keep mentioning the italian job, that'll make BMW feel better. the originals were Rovers if i recall correctly.

    94. Thomas Hillier

All that you’ll need after those repairs is a headlining and it may be worth something. It is quite a special piece of junk after all...

    95. Bjoern Altmann

Sounds very British though with all the leaks. Like the old Landrover Defender

    96. Thomas Hillier

Incontinence seems to be a theme at MINI: our 2009 R56 Cooper S with the PSA-BMW 1.6-litre Prince engine needs its fluids checking every week, especially oil to stop the turbo overheating. It’s also had BMW-funded new timing chain guides that disintegrated with MINI ‘forgetting’ to recall it. Only 65k miles from new and well on its way to Hooptie status.

    97. burnzy3210

genius idea, instead of restoring it at great expense, strip it out and make it a track day car

    98. John Kenneway

I would not wish one of those on my worst enemy. You will be sorry you ever seen it.

    99. Hooked on Classics

Pile of garbage. Crush it to death for being a fake Mini.

    100. Adrian Hinds

Better to do an engine swap
