545K بازدید155

Today’s story is about being out on the water, in the islands, and taking advantage of what mother nature provides. From collecting rainwater to foraging with a friend and using stored power from the sun to have a date night on the deck.

We’re Jason and Nikki Wynn. We been living #OffTheGrid and exploring the world for 10 years.
Our first six years of #travel were an epic road trip around North America.
Now we’re on a #sailing voyage about the world. Did we have any previous sailing experience, of course not!
Neither of us is overly talented, smart, rich, lucky, or retired. But that doesn’t stop us from reaching far-flung destinations, having wild #adventures and managing everything that makes living aboard a moving vessel possible.
We’re two ordinary people that just so happen to live an extraordinary life.
And this is why we publish our lives on the world wide web. We share in hopes of inspiring you to find your adventure.

I watched this video when it came out and I loved the idea of a barbecue pizza. John and I both eat vegan and tonight I decided to make a barbecue pizza and it was fantastic. Mushrooms, onions, pepper and cheese. Topped it off with strawberry cheesecake bites. Stay safe and love your channel.

    8. funnyglow

The scenery is so beautiful and stunning.Very enjoyable! Reminds me of my trips where I take the good music like the Guns N Roses, Imagine Draongs or the Delta Parole and then enjoy the powerful feeling of the sea. ¡vamos!

Looked everywhere on the site for your cookbook! Your cooking looks so good and we need the recipes please. Have you considered editing a cookbook? Or include the recipes in the show more and content sections?

      1. Gone with the Wynns

Well you may want to get your eyes checked because there's a recipe tab on the sailing page of the blog: There aren't a ton of recipes there because Nikki is more of a "fly by the seat of the pants" cook, but maybe we'll get a cookbook someday. Curious Minion

    20. cnyap1

Heat is your friend, condensation is from warm humid air hitting a cold surface (the glass).

    21. Sandy J

You guys should try a coconut husk remover if you do get lots of coconuts. Safer and saves time.

    22. ScubaJack w

      1. seiom jvony

    50. James B. Funk III

The question is would you have a seven year old boy hold the coconut while you were hitting it with a machete ? Why would the life long use of you hand be any less important? Rule number 1 is always keep your body behind the tool! Throw the machete away it, it has no place on a boat. It's used for clearing fields not handwork. You both are too important to us to get maimed. By the way I'm 20 min from a hospital, how about you?

    51. Jeff Allen

Happy-er than a clam sitting at the bottom of the Chesapeake bay passing clam gas...

    52. Neilhuny

20 seconds in and I'm in love with the hat! I want that hat. And such white teeth! Amazing teeth. Hey. I'm British, we notice things like that; teeth, and trimmed eyebrows on men. Strange

    53. Patti Logston

A small piece of paper towel will help with fog moisture

    54. Gary Laaks

I hope Brian, Kazza and the Nugget watches The Wynns too. O almost forgot Brady and Blue too.

    55. Karen Allen

High tide. Because people go clamming at low tide. At high tide, no one is digging for clams!

    56. alida flus

It’s so wonderful to see you back at home!!! Thank you both for your commitment to this channel. I look forward to seeing you every week.

    57. Gap P

      Thats amazing .

    58. Brandon B

      Absolutely gorgeous.

    59. Bill Brown

Question.... Do curious snakes come aboard while sleeping?

      1. Gone with the Wynns

NO! Absolutely not. And if you have proof they do, don't tell me!

    60. Sandy Oklahomatransient

As you were enjoying your movie, wine, and pizza that snake has made it's way onto your boat..... Nice looking pizza😊

    61. William C Sallai

      Your thumb is too close!

    62. William C Sallai

Do you have a vacuum cleaner with hose attachment? Do you have large ZipLock bags? Place the camera and a small desiccant bag in housing, but do not close the door, then place in the ZipLock bag. Place the end of the vacuum hose into the bag and turn on the vacuum. After the air in the bag is evacuated, close & secure the camera case. This should resolve your fogging problem.

    63. Ken Powell

      killers yikes

    64. Joshua Putnam

I thought the sound at the begining was fire. "How come fire and rain sometimes sound the same?"

    65. Anchors Away Sailing

      That pizza looked amazing.

    66. Niko Spinella

Next time you’re in a place where you can get Amazon packages, you should get a cast splitter. That’s what I’ve used to open coconuts once you hit it with a knife.

    67. moz

be really brilliant if you hit 500k views with this vlog guys - you did it - congrats xx

    68. David Turner

"Dinner and a Show".... as if i wasn't jealous enough... that did it. What a lifestyle xx

    77. My Dog & I

I would give you guys a piece of advice : De-husk the coconuts on land prior to taking them to the boat. Put them on the ground or a flat rock with the pointy end up and hit them with a rock as large as you can comfortably lift over your head, let the gravity do the work for you.. it will after 3-4 hard blows split the husk 1-2 places and you can then remove the husk with your bare hands without any machete action.. When splitting the nut itself look at the blunt end with the "eye and mouth".. above the eyes you make an imaginary line along the nut, and you hit it confidently with a sturdy knife/parang (if you forage on islands frequently I recommend you purchase a parang, its well worth it) and it will make a straight split along the middle.. do it over a bowl if you want to save the water inside.

      1. yuitr loing

and Sailing La Vagabond. BTW I have that exact same model of oven and it is just the best counter top one I have ever owned.

    79. Jonathan Barr

Nicky I think you are way to confident with that machete! Thought we were going to end up with a Horror Movie!

    80. Lloyd Trueblood

Use the little silica packs that comes in vitamin bottles in you dive camera housing. Absorbs all moisture in the air, no condensation.

Wow Folks, that sea snake and y'all played it cool. Ma'am understand your grew up in a little town in West Texas. My Wife (41 years together as of the 19th Jan. 2021) is from Van Horn where we met while I was farming. Wife was born in Monahans, Tx. Just viewed one of your excursions at the remote Island west of Cook Islands. Gosh, that's what we need, a life of stress free. I reckon, there is no China Virus spreading to those Islands as of yet? I may just keep following you on You-tube and comment in the future. Stay safe and watch those snakes! Jerome And Lupe, Spicewood, Tx

    88. Michel Paul Cote

Been watching your videos for years, but stopped watching this one after the 'chopping' scene. It will come down to "can the hospital sew the fingers back on again?" Unfortunately, the answer will be 'no'. Will watch the next video, keep safe!

20 years from now.."Mom, tell us again why you left your thumb in Tonga"

    90. Evan Johnson

You need to invest and practice the local way to peel and shred a coconut! You need a coconut spike and shredder :) Okay you don't "need" to do it, but I would love to watch you guys learn how to use them.

    91. Adam Meany

Right before you mentioned Marc, I was thinking about him. How is he doing?

      1. Gone with the Wynns

He's great! Getting his meds and feeling good.

    94. Nicole Maddix

      Do mosquitoes follow the boat?😎🏁

    95. Mark Egg

It was painful watching you slice the coconut, your husband correct. Remember: to guage your risk decisions whether knives, poisonous animals, etc WITH YOUR DISTANCE TO HOSPITAL OR HEALTH CARE.

    96. Gary Bickford

Camera fogging: you might consider trying to fill the enclosure with CO2 or nitrogen. You can get CO2 cartridges for filling fizzy drink makers whose name I forget. CO2 is heavier than air, do it should be effective to fill the enclosure while it is sitting in the bottom of a bowl. Then close it while still "submerged". You of course can also make your own CO2. Separating the H2O vapor from flame output can be done by freezing.

    97. raiderking69

They need to make a couple of kids...

    98. Gary Barker

My heart was in my mouth watching you battle with that knife!!!!!!

    99. Libesh Balakrishnan

Dear lord woman, get those fingers away from the coconut.... 😱😱😱

    100. Chris Masi

Nikki, after shucking it, you have to use the dull side of the machete and strike the coconut between the eye ends across the middle. Will crack in one or two strikes
