First Wash in 44 years! Barn Find Datsun 280z with only 350 Original Miles

4.2M بازدید921

This is the rarest Datsun 280z Barn find ever recorded (as I've been told) with only 350 original miles! It was left in a barn near Hershey Pennsylvania before its first wash in 44 years! You'd expect this to be a complete detailing disaster because it was left untouched for so long...but the paint was in good condition despite being covered in filth and disgusting grime. In this barn find, we use AMMO Frothe to remove the first layer of dust and dirt to ensure the rubber seals did not leak if we power washed. Once confident, we power washed the paint, then compounded and polished with a Rupes polisher during our paint restoration. The Datsun 280z has since won several awards at Zcon and more information can be found at

You should inform Nissan HQ or their factory museum in Japan about this car. They would definately be interested in buying it back from you and exibiting it in their museum.

    2. Fun world

      Brilliant work and awesome car

    3. Eustace Fernandes

Sir,why don't you use air to take the dust from outside?

    4. gureno19

"Embedded with dirt" Yeah , because you dragged a dirt filled cloth across the relatively dry paint with nothing other then foam as the lubrication, and no agitation at all of the dirt was honestly a bizarre move on your part.

    5. gureno19

Over 44 years and not one of its owners wanted to put it back together? Baffling.

    6. Lee Lemarc

just put it on display in a museum don't drive it

    7. MrBooshScadoosh

      10:24 this kinda scared me

    8. S F

WOW! That car is absolutely stunning. I’d love to see it at a car show.

    9. Large Joseph

So beautiful it feel like a sin to put any more miles on it

    10. Shams Kachooey

is nice and beautiful beacuse mostly old cars handered percent was more strange and beter than new cars ..

    11. Thomas Flynn

After you put the bumpers back on I realized that the car looked awesome without them. If that front was all grill instead of having a foot of bumper sticking off of it imagine how cool it would be. Damn safety regulations.

    12. Bryan T

How come you always say don’t use steam, and every video I watch you end up using steam? LOL

    13. B K

Very cool find. I bet that's worth a lot in that condition.

    14. Septex

Do not wach and eat 🙏🏻

    15. Chris Keane

What a beautiful car. That’s one gorgeous Z. My family has 5 Z cars in our family and love each one to death.

    16. Michael Eskew

That car is got to be definitely one of a kind my first car was a 1979 Datsun 280ZX I would estimate it to be worth for a serious collector somewhere around 100 grand But I think it’s the wrong car for me because it’s just too original and I wouldn’t want to modify in anyway I would want some thing that I wouldn’t not feel bad About putting a bigger turbo on

    17. J Morgan

Not getting the washing process maybe protect the stickers with plastic and tape

    18. PaigeAddor

      Does it drive tho?

    19. Jesse Lute

Thats amazing!!!! The best barn find ever!!!!

    20. rengga yuliardi

      It is sooooo beautiful

    21. Eric Owens

Is there a video somewhere of this thing with the engine running? Love to see it!

    22. Welz Aguilar

Why dont use air spray first? Why use towel wiping first?

    23. Kevin Harriman

      What is the game called

    24. Daunte` Navas

If the car was in such good condition couldn’t the battery of been changed or charged

    25. Ben Lee

I really hate how he used towel to wiped the dust of the car without clean off the dust by water first! this is unacceptable!

    26. scottsheck

Common sense would tell me to blow off the dirt first, then rinse with water, then use a towel. Using the towel first, then a pressure was sure, and then a orbital buffer made me cringe. Three things I would never do.

    27. Clint Davis

He paid 7500 and sold it for 760,000 I heard.

    28. Danni V

The game actually looks surprisingly good!

    29. ozzie seather

Imagine buying a new car then it not being absolutely perfect, so you don’t drive it for 44 years bc of a dent.

    30. Carlo S

That's the ghost z. Believe me.

    31. Ed Smith

Did it say what he paid for it?

    32. Andrew Hughes

what a gift... This car is spectacular.

    33. Swastika Zero

      The Devil 7 my lord..

    34. John Darren Renne

Better caul Jay, Jay Leno. Sold!

    37. Edu A

Look at min @13:53 he added sooooo many scratches by adding that froffie thing. I am not sure what his thought process was. He fixed it though but had to remove paint in the long run completely unnecessary

    38. maxbg

The engine still need to break in.

    39. StefanThePro YT

How much will the game cost

    40. Adin Buyamayum

they r lieying when clean it clearly seen that there is no single rusted in the body

    41. Munib Ahmad

      Usdm spec bumpers are🤢

    42. Seymore Butts

How is scraping dirt across the paint with a microfiber cloth safer than using water? Since when do you go right to polishing paint that you yourselves said had dirt embedded? Shouldn't you clay bar? I'm not the professional here but this doesn't look right.

    43. Glee2010

I’d just put it back in the garage for the next 44 years now isn’t the time to start putting a bunch of miles on it.

    44. Nick Girman

Cleaning it all wrong take it to pride truck wash you soap it then wash it then foam then brush you never wipe the dust that’ll scratch it

    45. Raffaele Maresca

      Wow, wishing it was mine

    46. Ian. L Wilson

    47. ItzCaptRanzo

Midnight maximum time players? Where ya at?

    48. Fred Maxwell

I bought new in 1978 a Datsun 280Z 5 Speed with AC that was a dark metallic blue with white interior. Watching this video makes me long for it.

    49. ggarl12

    50. Craig Stevenson

What the hell with the first wash 🧼

    51. MengeR

By my work place I seen two datsun sitting outside for ages. Ones a 510 and a 810 wagon. Both are great cars but just getting rusted out

      1. Seymore Butts

I wonder if you could find the owner

    52. ace ace

      wow wow wow a+

    53. Angry Toaster

Why.....just why did you not rinse the dirt off first....criiiiiiiinge

    54. michael bass

At this point, it would ALMOST be a shame to drive it. Or not. I'm so torn !!!

    55. Olaniyi Oyelowo

      Beautiful car! Worth the TLC!

    56. Bruce Beamon

    69. Fabian R

I don’t get it - I have a 1982 Porsche 944 that sat quite some time...until I started “using” it but also cleaning it frequently. Neither was I ever afraid of power washing it nor are any of the stickers broken / ever became too wet. Still has all original factory stickers and warning labels... Weird explanation.

    70. Jeff White

now the Z just needs some installed for keep the engine lasting forever

    71. jonki leshi

As a teenager I worked in a Datsun showroom in 1976, in Glasgow Scotland. It was my job to wash these cars and prepare them for the showroom. When they arrived from the manufacturer they had a coating of wax which we had to remove then polish the car. I remember this model well.

    72. Jason Mercer

Now some Kids are going to steal it and take it for a joy ride through the bush.😆

      1. David Flores

New video coming in a few hours!

    73. natalie hidalgo

    74. Mon Wil

I somuch wanted to hear it 😭😭😭😭

    75. Kmart Productions

    91. Rashid Paracha

    92. Lucas Stl

I really want to rebuild one of these, 240 or 280z, I really do. Well, to tell the truth I want to rebuild a car and modernize everything: the engine, the dash, keeping the stick-shift though. 😊 Any advice on looking for one?

    97. Camilla Revsbech Sørensen

    98. Franklin A. García

They did not turn the car on smhhhh 😱😱😱😱😱!!!💀💀💀💀

    99. K9 Man

So why did they think it was a good idea to wipe the caked-on dirt with SEVERAL passes with the same cloth, when they already had planned to use a pressure washers on the car? That didn't seem very thought out to me. I know they want to "get a feel for it", but it's not like it's not just a dirty car?

    100. 351cleavland

When you pulled that frothy mess of a towel across that dirty, dusty paint my whole family saw it and died!
